The house is in the hands of the original owner’s family, who belongs to the Komati Chettu community. The family’s ancestors were a part of the first Indian members of the Theosophical Society who were close associates of the British theosophist, Annie Besant.

The Franco-Tamil two-storey building was restored to the current INTACH offices.
